We stayed for a few days in Hampi, a small village in the middle of nowhere/central-south India, to visit an impressive set of ruins and temples.
Hampi was a very comprehensive stop, where we really did it all:

We were in Hampi for Hannoukkah and bumped into a Habad house there, so we went and lit the candles one night!
