Stupefying Bagan and MonesteTerrific Mont Popa

We made up with stupas in Bagan, because, well, Bagan is unbelievable. Bagan is a not so big area  (as in: cycleable, see below) in Burma, with hundreds of stupas built between the 9th century and October 2013.

We first enjoyed Bagan by driving around to visit some of the main stupas and temples. We also decided to leave the parents for a day in order to bike around, because we hadn't biked in some mud for waaay too long.

Monique is now an expert rice grinder

Travelling is hard because we walk from 6 a.m. to midnight every day.

HOT

Bagan is nice to explore by car. It is even better visited by bike. But what really beats everything else is getting on a hot air balloon and viewing the site from a few hundred meters of altitude:

It all starts with drinking coffee at 5am

The balloons are there, waiting for you!

And then we inflate the balloons

We also made a stop at Mont Popa, a small temple/monastery set at the top of a small mountain. The views on Mont Popa are stunning, and so are the 777 steps to climb up to the top and see the also-stunning views from there.

See this rock? Well, the temple is on top.

Alina managed to connect to the internet for 1 whole minute and found out I passed the NY Bar :)

A (freezing cold) pool and a Mont Popa. What else do you really need?

Green is Jeremy's best color
